Stoic philosophy? Maybe. Business strategy? Definitely not. Judicious entrepreneurship and leadership mean knowing which seeds to plant, and where, then patience and hard work to reap the harvest. Entrepreneurial yet methodical, our client is a growing Canadian public company who recognizes the obvious gaps between pure imagination, planning and successful execution.

With a renewed validation of their corporate strategy and business model, the company is now laying the groundwork for significant future growth and seeking a bright, accomplished CFO to join the senior management team. Reporting to the President & CEO, the CFO will oversee all financial administration, reporting & compliance, investor relations, treasury and risk management activities at the corporate level and provide financial leadership over the company’s various operating entities. The company’s focus is finding hidden opportunities, then harvesting them as productively as possible to deliver significant returns to their investors. Thus the CFO will play a critical leadership role in the analysis of future investments, the negotiation of project and investment agreements, arranging investment financing and due diligence surrounding potential growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a CPA, CA with 10+ years of senior level operational finance experience, ideally within a high-growth, multi-project business environment. Prior exposure to M&A, including financing and deal structure, along with the ability to think creatively ‘outside the box’ are essential skills. The right person will know when and how to push new ideas for growth opportunities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will round out the profile. The role will involve ongoing travel (approx. 25%) to the company’s operations across Canada and the U.S. The company sets high targets, but values and rewards results, and the successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive compensation package.

This is a broad scope role working within a bright, cohesive team, offering excellent prospects for future growth… the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come along every day. To explore the potential of your candidacy, please apply in confidence to Cathy Logue via email at logue@ambitsearch.com or by phone at 416-703-5017. While we appreciate your interest, we regret that only those individuals whose qualifications meet our client’s requirements will be contacted.
