They are looking for a bright, technically strong designated accountant with excellent people skills and a strong business sense to join their team as Controller. Reporting to the VP, Finance the successful candidate will take on a key role in the organization. Using both their technical and communication skills, they will hold monthly meetings with the company’s six VPs to take the pulse of the departments’ financials, as well as meeting with the President/Owner to keep him abreast of the overall financial picture.
Other responsibilities will include on-going reporting, preparation of financial statements and analysis, month-end closing, cash management and treasury-related tasks, assisting in the budgeting process, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and overseeing the accounting team. Assessing, improving and streamlining accounting systems and processes will also be part of the Controller’s mandate.
