Director, Financial Planning and Analysis – Posting 1507

Posted:October 22, 2013

This position has been filled.

According to Prime Minister Harper, the newly inked Canada EU trade deal is “the biggest deal our country has ever made … a historic win for Canada.” So, we get more of their wine and cheese and they get to enjoy more of our steak. The world just got a little smaller…

Our “born in Canada” client embraced the global business model years ago and they are poised to grow again. So, not wine, not cheese but properties. As their international real estate portfolio has grown, so have the opportunities at the corporate head office in Toronto and they are now seeking a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis to join the corporate finance team.

The position is new and will report to a highly experienced and engaged CFO… smart, down to earth with a sense of humour. There is significant scope and responsibility and the focus of the role will be on the numbers and what they mean to the business. The ability to analyze key performance indicators and business costs in a global real estate market are key criteria for success.

And the culture? You’ll work with sophisticated and accomplished professionals at the top of their game. It’s fast-paced and the perfect candidate will be ambitious and looking for future growth. Strong people skills and the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment will round out the profile.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) with 5-8 years of post qualification experience, ideally honed within a REIT. Strong analytical skills, great leadership skills, strong business acumen and a natural curiosity to ask “why” are essential.
