This quote from ‘The Lorax’ could easily double as the vision statement for our client, a respected not for profit organization based in the east GTA. For close to 40 years, they have prided themselves not only on caring ‘a whole, awful lot’, but on making a positive and palpable difference in peoples’ lives.
As the scope and range of their counseling and support services continues to expand, they recognize the need to enhance their internal financial and administrative functions to keep pace with the demands of the organization and the community they serve.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services in this newly-created role, the Finance Manager will be an integral member of the leadership team and astute business partner, a skilled finance professional capable of forging strong relationships as they support the financial affairs of the organization. They will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of financial strategies as they facilitate decision making and reporting processes across the organization.
Specific responsibilities will include: overseeing all general accounting and reporting functions, supporting the development of annual budgets, preparing monthly / quarterly financial information for senior management & the Board of Directors, reviewing departmental financials and analysis and performing various corporate management responsibilities to support and advance the organization. The successful candidate will possess superior people as well as technical accounting and controllership skills, gained through 3-5 years’ progressive experience, and excel in a hands-on role within a dynamic and diverse environment. Prior experience within the healthcare and/or non-profit sector is a must.
