The Director of Finance is a new addition to a very small team that provides oversight and management expertise on a broad array of personal, career, philanthropic, investment, and business opportunities
The Director of Finance will be a key member of a small, highly collaborative senior management team and senior external advisory group. The position will work closely with the CFO and the senior team and with a small, highly sophisticated external advisory group as well as multiple public and private market portfolio managers, and the real estate team. Building and maintaining strong working relationships is essential to success.
The primary responsibility of this new role is to provide deep analysis and financial reporting for all of the investments of the Family Office. Additionally, this role will assist with overseeing due diligence for potential acquisitions and divestitures. The successful candidate will be a valued member of an astute, high-caliber team providing essential insights and strategic investment advice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain a robust reporting and analysis structure for public market investment portfolios
- Oversight and review of the monthly operating and budget comparison reports from investee companies with added comments on operating performance and current valuation and comparison with initial investment criteria
- Provide direction to those portfolio companies without robust reporting infrastructure currently in place
- Summarize internal reports from core or legacy businesses including comparison with industry benchmarks, meeting of Direct Investment Criteria and assessment of forecasts, ROI for capital expenditure budgets and ROE
Essential skills include a CPA, CA with a CFA and/or CBV, hands-on accounting and investment experience in a private equity or investment analysis environment, an understanding of the real estate industry, and exceptional skills in preparing and presenting clear, concise reports to senior management on complex investment matters.
