Life is full of choices. Sliding doors. Each door leading you down a different path that will shape your life.
Often after a certain point (maybe bought a house, established yourself, got a dog), we settle into the choices we’ve made. Maybe owning a house you can afford means a 2-hour commute. Or maybe the job you’ve fought to make a career of leaves you with little energy or motivation to really enjoy life or your family. So what if you could change your trajectory?
Our client is a well-established, independent CA firm located just 90 minutes outside of Toronto and minutes from lakes, hiking, golf and cottage life. Far from being a retirement or bedroom community, the city and business community are thriving, with growing numbers relocating there from the GTA, for both work and lifestyle reasons. There is all the sophistication and culture of the big city, without all the compromises of city living. Sounds ideal, doesn’t it?
As part of the firm’s succession planning strategy, the firm is now looking for a tax specialist to join their team. The current Tax practice leader is ready to groom his successor, so this a great opportunity to be closely mentored by a tenured, knowledgeable expert with deep-rooted local connections, while at the same time having the freedom and independence to build your own connections and practice. The path to partnership is clearly laid out, within the next 1-3 years, for the right individual.
The ideal candidate will be a designated tax professional (CPA, CA or CGA) who has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax program and/or their Masters in Taxation (MTax). They should be well-versed in a broad range of tax compliance & planning matters related to small to medium-sized clients. They should also be outgoing, enjoy working with people and eager to engage within the community. Golf, fishing, hiking and cycling are optional, but workaholics need not apply!
