Vice President, Tax – Posting 1476

This position has been filled.

“If you are offered a ride on a rocket ship, you don’t ask what seat. You just get on”, Sheryl Sandberg was advised as she began her career. So, she did. The rocket ship was Google and she has never looked back.

We’ve got a rocket ship…

They are a rapidly growing financial services company that has blasted into orbit. Founded in 2007, they went public in 2011 and by 2013 were added to the elite group of companies that comprise the S&P / TSX Composite index. Their secret? A seasoned executive team, with a proven track record and the right relationships converging at the right time in the market. And of course an incredible amount of passion and work ethic. And they are now looking for a Senior Tax leader to join their elite team.

As the leader of the tax function, you will be charged with working closely with external advisors while building an internal team to manage all aspects of the tax function. The scope of the role is extremely broad – overall responsibility for tax compliance and government tax audits, managing the tax accounting function, advising and structuring acquisitions, reviewing and assessing the impact of cross border and cross Atlantic financing, and advising and coordinating ongoing funding needs.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned tax professional that has run a shop or has worked with complex entrepreneurial clients in the financial services sector. This person will be technically strong, hands on and ideally, an adrenaline junkie. The role is big and will only get bigger as the company continues on its aggressive growth trajectory.

The rocket is ready and the seats are limited…
