“It takes a village”, as the saying goes and whether you are raising a child or fostering a community, the village must manage its finances. Our client is a not-for-profit “village” and they are looking for a Controller to run the finances of this small but vibrant community.
Reporting to the CEO, this position will work closely with the Treasurer and Board of Directors. The role is hands-on, supervising one staff, with overall responsibility for all of the finance and accounting for the organization, including the general ledger and financial reporting, AP/AR, payroll, budgets and the year-end audit. The role is located in North York.

Good judgment and strong interpersonal skills are the key success factors, in addition to a professional accounting designation (CGA, CMA) and a minimum of 5 years progressive industry experience. Prior experience within the not-for-profit sector will be of interest but is not required.
